【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoverstheprocedurefordeterminingthehardenabilityofsteelbytheend-quenchorJominytest.Thetestconsistsofwaterquenchingoneendofacylindricaltestspecimen1.0in.indiameterandmeasuringthehardeningresponseasafunctionofthedistancefromthequenchedend.1.1Thesetestmethodscovertheidentificationanddescriptionoftestmethodsfordeterminingthehardenabilityofsteels.Thetwotestmethodsincludethequantitativeend-quenchorJominyTestandamethodforcalculatingthehardenabilityofsteelfromthechemicalcompositionbasedontheoriginalworkbyM.A.Grossman.1.2Theselectionofthetestmethodtobeusedfordeterminingthehardenabilityofagivensteelshallbeagreeduponbetweenthesupplieranduser.TheCertifiedMaterialTestReportshallstatethemethodofhardenabilitydetermination.1.3Thecalculationmethoddescribedinthesetestmethodsisapplicableonlytotherangeofchemicalcompositionsthatfollow:1.4Hardenabilityisameasureofthedepthtowhichsteelwillhardenwhenquenchedfromitsaustenitizingtemperature().Itismeasuredquantitatively,usuallybynotingtheextentordepthofhardeningofastandardsizeandshapeoftestspecimeninastandardizedquench.Intheend-quenchtestthedepthofhardeningisthedistancealongthespecimenfromthequenchedendwhichcorrelatestoagivenhardnesslevel.1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:1.1Thisguidecoverstheevaluationandselectionofescortvesselsthataretobeusedtoescortshipstransitingconfinedwaters.Thepurposeoftheescortvesselistolimittheuncontrolledmovementofashipdisabledbylossofpropulsionorsteeringtowithinthenavigationalconstraintsofthewaterway.Thevariousfactorsaddressedinthisguidealsocanbeintegratedintoaplanforescortingagivenshipinagivenwaterway.Theselectionofequipmentalsoisaddressedinthisguide.1.2Thisguidecanbeusedinperformance-basedanalysestoevaluate:1.2.1thecontrolrequirementofadisabledship,1.2.2theperformancecapabilitiesofescortvessels,1.2.3thenavigationallimitsandfixedobstaclesofawaterway,1.2.4theambientconditions(windandsea)thatwillimpacttheescortresponse,and1.2.5themaneuveringcharacteristicsofcombineddisabledship/escortvessel(s).1.3Thisguideoutlineshowthesevariousfactorscanbeintegratedtoformanescortplanforaspecificshiporaspecificwaterway.Italsooutlinestrainingprogramsandtheselectionofequipmentforescort-relatedactivities.1.4AflowchartoftheoverallprocessfordevelopingandimplementinganescortplanisshowninFig.1.Theprocessbeginswiththecollectionofappropriatedata,whichareanalyzedwithrespecttotheperformancecriteriaandinconsultationwithindividualshavinglocalspecializedknowledge(suchaspilots,waterwayauthorities,interestgroups,orpublic/privateorganizations,andsoforth).Thisyieldsescortvesselperformancerequirementsforvarioustransitspeedsandconditions;theseareembodiedintheship'sescortplan.Whenthetimecomestopreparefortheactualtransit,theplanisconsultedinconjunctionwithforecastconditionsanddesiredtransitspeedtoselectanddispatchtheappropriateescortvessel(orcombinationofvessels).Apre-escortconferenceisconductedtoensurethatallprincipalpersons(shipmaster,pilot,andescortvesselmasters)haveagoodunderstandingofhowtomakeasafetransitandinteractintheeventofanemergency.1.5Thisguideaddressesvariousaspectsofescorting,includingseveralperformancecriteriaandmethodologiesforanalyzingthecriteria,aswellastraining,outfitting,andotherescort-relatedconsiderations.Thisguidecanbeexpandedasappropriatetoaddnewcriteria,incorporate"lessonslearned"asmoreescortingexperienceisgainedintheindustry,ortoincludealternativemethodologiesforanalyzingthecriteria.1.6Thisguideaddressesphysicalcontrolofthedisabledshipwiththeassistanceoftheescortvessel(s).Otherpossiblefunctions,suchasfirefighting,piloting,ornavigationalredundancy,areoutsidethescopeofthisguide.Also,thisguidewasdevelopedforapplicationtooceangoingshipsincoastalwaterways;itisnotsuitableforapplicationtobargestringsinriverineenvironments.
