MIL-STD-6040 (NOTICE 1), DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE INTERFACE STANDARD: UNITED STATES MESSAGE TEXT FORMATTING PROGRAM (06 NOV 2003)., MIL-STD-6040, the U.S. Message Text Formatting Program, is approved for DOD-wide use. This military standard is updated annually with the new version being implemented on 31 March of each year. The distribution of this military standard is restricted to U. S. Government agencies and their contractors (Distribution C). Application for a copy of this standard should be submitted to: Director, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), ATTN: IN31, 5600 Columbia Pike, Falls Church, VA 22041 or by e-mail to usmtf@hq-www.disa.mil.
